Formed in 2023, Quartetto Pegreffi is one of the most promising young ensembles on the Italian chamber-music scene. Its name pays tribute to Elisa Pegreffi, second violinist of the legendary Quartetto Italiano, in the great tradition of the Italian string quartet. The ensemble is made up of Emma Parmigiani and Inesa Baltatescu on violins, Emanuele Ruggero on viola and Lorenza Baldo on cello.
In 2024 it won the Amici della Musica di Verona Prize. It trained at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole — studying with the Cuarteto Casals and Heime Müller, and receiving the “Ciampi” scholarship as best chamber group — and was chosen by Alexander Lonquich for the 2024 ECMA session. It earned a second-level Master's degree in Chamber Music, with honours and honourable mention, at the Arrigo Boito Conservatory in Parma under the guidance of the Trio di Parma.
A member of Le Dimore del Quartetto and of the Musica con le Ali association, it performs regularly for leading Italian and European concert institutions, including the Società del Quartetto di Milano, the Festival delle Nazioni, the Società dei Concerti di Parma and the Brahms Festival in Lübeck.
On 16 June it joins clarinettist Fabrizio Meloni at Mozart Evenings.
