Born in Cagliari in 1986, Anna Tifu is regarded as one of the most established Italian violinists of her generation. Introduced to the instrument by her father at the age of six, she made her debut at just twelve at La Scala in Milan with Bruch's First Concerto, and went on to study with Salvatore Accardo at the Walter Stauffer Academy in Cremona.
International recognition came in 2007 with her victory at the George Enescu Competition in Bucharest. Since then she has performed with leading orchestras and conductors around the world, on several occasions playing the famous “Il Cannone” Guarneri del Gesù that once belonged to Niccolò Paganini.
On 15 June she is a soloist at Mozart Evenings together with cellist Alexander Chaushian.
